Cleaning the Exterior of a Stainless-Steel Vessel

Device Used: Car Wash Foamer-

Cleaning Blend Used: Foaming CID #1886

A popular question for our team is… How we can get the exterior of our vessels clean? We do

brewery tours, and we are hoping to see a luster and impress our customers, but we have a

haze that was created by dust from the grains.

A key aspect is that this cleaning procedure could be in hard-to-reach places, moreover we

could be cleaning around devices that are not stainless steel. So, something safe for the

equipment as well as for the staff.

The product FOAMING CID #1886 has been manufactured for over 50 years with great success

on dairy tanks, excellent results and safety for staff and equipment. The formula includes a

strong punch of phosphoric acid with a significant number of wetting agents with an excessive

amount of foaming agent. This enables a strong cleaning punch with the ability to create a

luster. At the same time, the blend is very safe for any type of metal or plastic. You do not need

to worry where the foam lands… Safe for all surfaces. We recommend using an inexpensive

foaming gun which has a built-in aerator. The aerator will aid in creating foam.

Directions for optimal use:

  • Add Foaming CID #1886 to the guns reservoir and adjust to the medium foam setting.

  • Spray copious amount of foam on the bottom 3-5 ft of the vessel

  • (Note: Start on Bottom and work your way up in 3-5 ft increments allowing for all

  • sediment to rinse to the floor. If you rinsed from the top, the bottom would be caked

  • with foam filled with sediment)

  • Allow foaming to sit in place for 2-3 minutes and cleaning agents to kick in.

  • Rinse with a copious amount of water making sure all foam has rinsed away.

  • Use the rinsed foam to clean the floors. It will do a great job.

  • Now begin another 3–5-foot section and repeat.

  • At the end, a final rinse of the whole vessel may be optimal

  • A lot of our breweries use the same foam for canning line and exterior of keg… They for everything and their brewery sparkles!!

Note: No need for an expensive foaming dispensing mechanism. Use the correct cleaning

blend!
